Sebrina Chalotse was a human female politician from Davis and a well known member of the Federation Whig Party. She served as Davis' senior senator in the Stonewall Federation Senate and was the Federation Whig Party candidate for the Chancellery Election of 20 NE.
Biography
Early Life
Chalotse was born as Sebrina Marie Goolib in 15 NE in the rural area outside Arion City, Davis. Her parents, Beth Goolib and Andrew Goolib, were both programmers at a tech firm in Arion City. Both were very active in the colonial politics of Davis at the time, since Davis had not yet gained independence from the Confederate States of America and was still considered a Confederate Colony. When she was ten years old, her father was elected to the regional governing board for the planet, representing the family's district.
Chalotse entered law school at Stonewall Planetary College located in Stonewall City, Stonewall in 3 NE. She studied there for six years, eventually graduating with her degree. She worked as a lawyer until 8 NE, when she joined the Stonewall Republic Military amidst growing tensions between the Allied States of America and the Confederate Remnants. She graduated from Officer's Candidate School, and went into the Stonewall Defense Fleet as a Lieutenant, where she served as a snubfighter pilot. She saw action during the Second Confederate War in the Stonewall System, where she was nearly killed with her fighter being damaged critically.
After the conclusion of the Second Confederate War, Chalotse resigned her commission, and returned to private life.
Political Life
After returning to Davis as a private citizen, Chalotse decided to run for the open seat for the new Stonewall Federation Senate on Davis. She assisted the Whig Party in reorganizing into the Federation Whig Party, and formally joined it at its founding. She easily won election to the provisional government in 11 NE, taking nearly 79% of the popular vote. Later in 12 NE, she won reelection to the same seat unopposed as the provisional government transitioned to the permanent government, as specified by the constitution. Her seat was selected as a Class III seat, so she did not face reelection until 18 NE. In 18 NE, she easily won reelection, taking 64% of the vote over her opponents.
In 20 NE, Chalotse announced her candidacy for the Chancellery Election, dedicating most of her platform to keeping a strong military to avoid another round of the Confederate Wars. She ran as a Federation Whig, and also happened to be the youngest of the candidates. She clashed regularly with Senator Don Flashsk, who was running as a Stonewall First Party candidate, along with Governor David Polensi, who was the Liberal Party candidate.
