Japan is the oldest territory of Kira's Kingdom, having been the scene of the Shining Rebellion in 33 BNE. It housed the capital of Kira's Kingdom until 11 NE, when it briefly regained independence before signing the Treaty of Athena. It has since existed as a constituent-state governing the Asian and Pacific territories of Kira's Kingdom.
History[]
In 33 BNE, the State of Japan was overthrown in what would later be referred to as the Shining Rebellion, a religiously and ideologically motivated uprising which led to the establishment of the Holy Empire of Kira's Kingdom. The Imperial Family and many high ranking officials of the Japanese government went into hiding, and remnants of the Self Defense Forces reformed into a resistance movement that would remain active for several years before going dormant.
