The Confederate-class Star Dreadnought, commonly referred to as the Confederate-class Battleship, was a 35 KM star dreadnought and battleship that was a part of the Dreadnought Project by the Stonewall Federation to develop multi-kilometer battleship style captial ships to keep up militarily with outside nations. To date, this is the largest warship ever produced by the Stonewall Defense Corporation for anyone other than the Galactic Empire when it created the Light Bringer.
Development[]
With the Galactic Empire in recession, and fewer Imperial patrols in the Stonewall System due to its military being downscaled, the Stonewall Federation was left with only their 1.5 KM star destroyers for defense. Despite Imperial regulations and laws prohibiting ships in size over that length, Chancellor Theodore Jackson and Supreme Commander William Bedford Forrest decided to disregard those regulations and begin the Dreadnought Project.
The Dreadnought Project centered around creating mutli-kilometer star dreadnoughts and battleships with newer technology. Many outside nations and organizations had captial ships approaching 300 kilomters in large numbers. The Liberty-class Star Dreadnought and Confederate-class Star Dreadnought were the first in this project to be developed.
Characteristics[]
The Confederate-class featured a heavy does of firepower along with interdictor gravity wells that could extend out to 100 AU and further. It was approximately 35 kilometers long. Due to tech sharing within the Barlat Concordiat, many systems onboard the Confederate-class were automated, cutting crew size down to 16,000.
